Brake pad precautions

It is recommended that you use the brake discs, calipers, and pads that match your car. The best time to replace the brake pads is that the disc brake pad thickness can be checked by stepping on the brake plate, while the brake pad thickness on the brake shoe of the drum brake must be pulled out of the brake to check.

Whether it is a disc brake pad or a drum brake, the manufacturer stipulates that its thickness must not be less than 1.2mm, because, through all practical measurements, the brake pads wear out and peel off faster before or after 1.2mm. Therefore, the car owner should check and replace the brake pads on the brakes at this time or before.

In general vehicles, under normal driving conditions, the life of the brake pads of the front brake is 30,000-50,000 kilometers, and the service life of the brake pads of the rear brake is 120,000-150,000 kilometers.

The installation of new brake pads should distinguish between the inside and outside, and the friction surface of the brake pads should be towards the brake disc so that the disc fit properly. Secure the attachment and fasten the clamp body. Before tightening the clamp body, apply a tool (or special tool) to push the plug on the pliers back into place to facilitate fitting the pliers in place. If you need to replace the brake pads on the drum brakes, it is recommended to go to a professional repair shop to ask a professional to avoid errors.
