The more common fault in the brake system is the abnormal brake sound, which many car owners have encountered. Generally, the brake noise is when the vehicle presses the brake while driving, and the brake system will emit a sharp metal friction sound, which often occurs after rain.
If this situation occurs mostly because the brake pads are thinner, the back plate grinds the brake discs, the brake pads are hard, and there are foreign objects in the brake pads will cause abnormal sounds, so when there is a brake abnormal sound, check the thickness of the brake pads first, and the thickness is no problem and slam on the brakes a few feet may alleviate the abnormal sound problem.
The main cause of abnormal brake noise
(1) The running-in of new cars, of which the running-in of brake pads is a very important link, usually after running hundreds of kilometers, you can feel that the brakes will be more comfortable;
(2) The newly replaced brake pads also need to be better combined with the old disc through running-in, and when they are just replaced, they will feel that the brakes are very hard, and they usually need to drive hundreds of kilometers to feel better;
(3) When the vehicle is running, there may be very fine sand particles entering the middle of the sheet and the disk, and sometimes there will be abnormal noise due to friction, which generally does not need maintenance, just run to make the small sand particles fall out;
(4) For abnormal noise that is not good at running-in, some owners simply run up and slam on the brakes, which can run in the brakes in a short time, but this will make the brake pads wear more severely, that is, it is equivalent to reducing the service life of the brake pads, so it is recommended that you run for a period of time to observe, do not artificially force the wear of the brake pads;
(5) The fixing screw of the brake disc is lost or damaged, which will also cause abnormal brake noise;
(6) The brake system fails, which requires inspection and repair;
(7) If your car is equipped with ABS, it may also be that it intervened;
(8) When the brake disc is abnormal after wear, this is due to the dirty surface of the brake disc, the uneven density of the brake disc material, the excessive working temperature, and the mismatch of the brake disc installation torque.
(9) High-frequency sounds sharp, and when the brake discs vibrate at the same frequency as the brake pads, they resonate to produce a scream.
Check: the brake disc must be checked before replacing the brake pad; check the thickness of the brake disc with a caliper; reinstall the fixed brake disc bolts; Measure the flatness of the working surface of the brake disc.
(10) Generally known as caliper noise, it is caused by the vibration of the caliper assembly, and may also be caused by the vibration of the suspension system. Slight vibration in the caliper or suspension of new cars, early morning sensitivity, such as early winter mornings, is especially common. Check the calipers, suspension system and bushings.
Check the calipers: whether the guide rail is smoothly lubricated and whether the piston oil seal is damaged; Whether all anti-noise clips and brake pads are suitable and installed correctly; Whether the brake pads are too smooth and overused.
